Week 44: Feliz Navidon't throw up

This week was great! I love the light the world initiative! But let's dive right into the week.

Christmas eve we ate with the relief society president and her family. Hermana Erazo is from Honduras so I got to try Honduran food and it was amazing. And they show their love in food, and to be grateful and kind of a sense of pride, you finish the plate. She gave us so much to eat. It was literally 5 lbs of hispanic food. It was delicious but I seriously almost popped. I had to loosen my skirt, I was swearing, and focusing on just not throwing up. But other than being so full I thought I was going to die, it was really fun. And at one point they had the beegees on, you know, your typical Christmas eve vibe.

Christmas we opened our presents in the morning and spent the day visiting members. Its a great way to get out and spread the message of Christ without making people mad at you which is always a plus. We had dinner with the Mancilla family and that was really fun. Hermana mancillas family was there too and that was funny because they started talking about politics at one point and the cliche family dinner things. I thought it was hilarious. And then we got to share the Christ child video on their new projector and discuss what it means to each of us. It was really special and then they gave us each cute nativity decorations.

This weeks miracle was Martín. We met him at a park and set up an appointment with him the next day. He is so nice. He can't read or write and is all by himself, but he is looking to join a church, and wants to learn more about Jesus. We helped him download the Book of Mormon app to start listening to it. He is very precious. It's amazing to see how God works to put who we need in our paths, and how we get to be the people God uses to reach out and help his children.

I hope y'all had a wonderful week and keep focusing on ways to serve and look outside yourself.

The Lord will help you in all you do.

Love ya!

Hermana Nielson :D
